Tangkuban Parahu

Sitting with panoramic Bandung graceful dominate the north, Mount Tangkuban Perahu is one that is still active volcano in West Java. Located at an altitude of 2084 m above sea level, this uniquely shaped mountain has attracted many visitors over the decades who came to take a closer look crater, enjoying panoramic views of the valley around it, as well as more familiar with the story of famous people, Sangkuriang.
Based on the legend, the mountain was formed by a feeling of anger Sangkuriang failed to grant the request for the lake and a large boat from Dayang Sumbi (a story of forbidden love between a child with his own mother). Then kicked the boat that has been created and fallen tertelengkup (in Basa Sunda nangkub) in its current location - which became the origin of the name Mount Tangkuban Perahu. According to geological history, Tangkuban Mt formed by repeated eruptions of volcano activity Sunda in the prehistoric era. Note eruption in 2 of the last century was in 1829, 1846, 1862, 1887, 1896, 1910, and 1929.
From the top of the tower Sate Building in Bandung, you can see very clearly the physical form Tangkuban Mt really like the boat overturned.
